چکیده

Objective: The objective of the study was to carry out phytochemical profiling essential oils (EOs) and evaluation their anti-microbial activity. Methods: EOs extracted from Cumminum cyminum, Zingiber officinale, Trachyspermum ammi, Alipnia galanga, Cedrus deodara, Elettaria cardamomum using clavenger apparatus. Phytochemical analysis high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) fingerprinting were carried for EO. antibacterial antifungal activity evaluated agar well-diffusion method against two bacterial strains, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus fungal Candida albicans, Aspergillus brasiliensis. Positive controls ciprofloxacin-30 mg, azithromycin-15 nystatin NS-50 mg used. Antioxidant potential investigated by TLC-bioautography 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl derivatization. Results: reveals presence various such as steroids, terpenoids, phenylpropanoids. HPTLC fingerprint is found be unique each oil. EO Z. officinale T. ammi showed strong S. aureus. C. Tachyspermum ommi A. galanga displayed prominent antioxidant on TLC bioautography. herbs Cuminum cynimun, Ellateria produce reasonable amount essentials oil, which can explored useful industrial applications. Conclusions: These further antimicrobial along with derivatization suitable chromogenic reagents a rapid simple tool quality control EOs.
